I have lived in Birmingham now for 6 years and in that time I have lived in Moseley, Kings Heath, Edgbaston and more recently I moved to Hockley.

What I really love about moving to a new area is discovering new things. Now, I have worked in Hockleys famous Jewellery Quarter before and was familiar with some of the things going on there but since I have had more time to explore, I have discovered a real hidden gem, tucked in away in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter.

The OUR urban retreat centre is based in Caroline Street and was formerly a Yoga Centre, after the previous tenants moved on, Rachel Murphy (pictured below) decided she would take on the new lease and create a space for likeminded people to socialise, network and sha their Holistic and alternative therapies with the community.

Still very much in it's early stages, it's followers, attendees, Therapists and Volunteers  are increasing steadily as the word spreads throughout the holistic/alternative/new age community.

After spending some time there recently and getting to know the founder/s and other volunteers, it's easy to see why.

The centre has a really, soothing, authentically friendly energy and as soon as you walk through the door, after removing your shoes and leaving the outside world behind, one feels calmer and more receptive to the welcoming vibe.

There is a full programme of treatments, workshops, talks and classes on 6 days a week ranging from Gnostic studies to BioDanzer, Life Coaching, Yoga and Reiki treatments can also be found here.

On the 25th Feb there is a Mind, Body, Spirit fair on and would be a great opportunity to come along and see the centre in full swing.
